Programme Information

This information sheet provides a brief of the ICDL Programme offered at INtel College. ICDL is the world's leading computer skills certification. The programme defines the skills and competencies necessary to use a computer and common computer applications. To date more than 14 million people have engaged with the ICDL programme, in over 150 countries, through our network of over 24,000 ICDL Accredited Test Centres (ATCs).

The ICDL offers a wide range of modules including Computer Essentials, Word Processing and IT Security. Candidates take tests in the modules which are most relevant to their educational and professional requirements, thereby creating their ICDL Profile. Whether in school, university or in the workplace, ICDL offers the skills you need to succeed.

INtel College and ICDL Africa work in a collaborative partnership to offer ICDL programme that enables proficient use of ICT that empowers individuals, organisations and society, through the development, promotion and delivery of quality international certification programmes throughout the world.

Recognized by the Government of Kenya. The Minister for Information and Communication amended the ICT Sector Policy Guidelines in November 2009 through a Kenya Gazette notice number 12070. This was done to recognize ICDL as the entry level computer certification designed to demonstrate competence in computer operation.

Programme Aims


  •  Provide opportunities for students to improve digital skills and basic computer applications proficiency within society. The certification programmes are designed to be accessible to all persons, irrespective of age, gender, status and ability.

  •  Provide springboard to improved job and study prospects.
  •  Provide international recognized qualification.
  •  Increase essential IT skills levels and confidence at work..
  •  Provide a platform from which to move on to higher level of IT education.
  •  Make a better use of IT resources and provides a return on IT investment.

Course Requirements


  •  No prerequisites skills required.

    Registration for those taking exams only is Ksh.5000
    However, if the tuition fee is paid for the entire course (level 1& 2) once, the course fee is Ksh32,000
    Students taking individual course plus the exam is Ksh.10,000

    Admission Process


    •  Complete the admission form from here

    •  Make fee payment by cash deposit direct to the college account or by cheque payment or by MPESA (PAYBILL).

    •  Bookings should be done a week prior to commencement date deemed appropriate.

    •  Submit items 1 and 2 above to the college reception.
